This was my first wedding back after having baby Sophia and it was a cracker. To be honest I was supposed to be still on maternity leave, but when I met Josie I knew I wanted to photograph her wedding. We hit to off instantly, she reminded me of me before I had children; always traveling, having amazing adventures and photographing cool stuff. Josie & Oren’s wedding was at a new venue to me – The Dragonfly Retreat in Bothell. It’s such a beautiful place surrounded by woods. You wouldn’t know you were right in Bothell.

The beautiful Huppah was made from wood from the trees at the venue by the bride & groom’s handy friends. They did an amazing job and gave it to the venue so that Kathleen can share it with future couples getting married at the Dragonfly Retreat. The officiant, brother-in-law Jarret led a lovely personalized ceremony. Oren’s sister Mira sang a beautiful song which may or may not have a brought a few tears to this sappy photographer’s eye (I blame the hormones!!) Oren’s other sister Daniella and Josie’s mother shared some beautiful words and altogether it was a very sweet ceremony; perfectly fitting for Josie & Oren.

Another highlight for many at the wedding, apart from the tasty food and cake, was the wonderful band The W Lovers who played pretty much the whole day. I would whole heartedly recommend them if you are looking for some live music for a wedding or other event. Oren certainly knows a thing or two about music so I wasn’t surprised to hear great music at their wedding.
